You have questions, we have answers

1. What are we about?
We are a group of ballroom dancers who volunteer to run a non-profit dance club. The club provides a dance floor with strict tempo Latin, Standard and Social Music for ballroom dancers interested in dancing and improving their skills and practicing what they have learned at their lessons. We are people who enjoy dancing ballroom.

2. Do you provide dance lessons?
No, we do not.

3. Do you provide dance partners?
No, we do not.

4. Can single people come?
All ballroom dancers are welcome to come. We recommend bringing a partner.

5. Where can I / We get dance instructions?
You may check with the Barrie Recreation and Leisure Community Guide or the Yellow Pages. There may be private dance teachers in your area. There are links in our web site you may follow.

6. When are your dances?
Please check the website for the scheduled dates, places and times. Our dances usually start at 8 pm and end at Midnight on Saturdays once a month. There are no dances in July and August.

7. Where can we get tickets?
You can pay at the door. Please try to bring the correct change. All dinner dances and the Grand Ball tickets are sold in advance and cannot be purchased at the door.

8. Is there a snack?
A substantial snack consisting of a variety of sandwiches, desserts, tea and coffee is included in the admission and served between 10:30-11:00pm.

9. What about alcohol / liquor?
The LLBO law does not allow anyone to bring any form of liquor or alcohol into the hall whether it is in its own bottle or in a soft drink. There is bar service where you can purchase drinks. If you have brought liquor into the hall you will be asked to leave immediately.

10. What is your dress code?
It is casual or dressed up depending on the occasion. Sloppy dressing is not allowed. No running shoes or boots. The best footwear is proper dance shoes.

11. What about dance etiquette?
One should always be courteous and thoughtful of other dancers and use floor craft to avoid collisions. If the floor is really too crowded, you may want to wait for the next song / dance.

12. How can we join the Club?
For those that are interested, there is an annual fee for joining the club that allows you to get the newsletter and a reduced admission fee to the dances and to vote at the annual general meeting in January. Just ask our Membership Director.
